55% increase in allowances
The BJP government has given Holi a gift to saasans. It is now almost certain to get increased allowance of 40 thousand rupees for the members of parliament, as the Union Cabinet allowed a proposal in this regard.

In a meeting held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Cabinet approved the amendment in the allowance rules from April 1.

The Minister of Parliamentary Affairs issued the statement and told that MPs will get 70 thousand rupees instead of 45 thousand rupees per month. Similarly, the office allowance has been increased from 45 thousand rupees to 60 thousand rupees. In addition to these two allowances, one-time furniture allowance has been increased from Rs 75 thousand to presently, one lakh rupees.

All allowances will be automatically increased every five years after the cost increase from April 2023. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had announced in his budget speech that a permanent system would be created for review after every five years of MP's salary.
